Anne and Peiot are two twins living in the whaling village of San Juan. They are inseparable friends of Watunna, the brave son of the chief of the tribe of Mic-Mac Indians. Over them has been deposited the privilege of the Sacred Covenant, an ancient agreement made by their ancestors to destroy the evil North Wind. The North Wind is fearsome, and when his anger breaks, everyone is shaking.
